Oliver Burke pushing for West Brom start

West Bromwich Albion will meet Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns on Saturday as they look to finish off a hectic start to life in the Championship.

The Baggies have had to play five first-team matches in the opening two weeks and that could force Darren Moore into making a number of changes.

According to a match preview by BBC Sport, Oliver Burke is one of those that could be pushing for a start, after he impressed in midweek.

The attacker netted his first goal for the Baggies on Tuesday as they edged past Luton Town in the League Cup and will be hoping he has done enough to put himself in contention for Saturday’s match.

However, with Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, who netted twice against Norwich City in their last Championship fixture, he could find it difficult.

Moore will need to make a change at the back following Allan Nyom’s departure to Leganes, which could mean that Craig Dawson could make a return to the side, despite his desire to leave the Hawthorns this summer.

The Verdict:

West Brom will be looking to build on their 4-3 victory against Norwich last weekend and their win against Luton.

The Baggies have had a mixed bag of results in the Championship this season, having suffered a last-minute defeat to Bolton Wanderers, a draw against Nottingham Forest and the victory against the Canaries last weekend.

Moore will hope that result can be used as a platform and they will be able to see off the challenge of Queens Park Rangers and get their promotion challenge underway.
