Sheffield Wednesday fans here in the Tavern want to see major improvements before the new campaign starts in a few weeks.
The Owls will have their sights set firmly on securing a play-off spot and maybe even promotion in the next campaign after displaying moments of brilliance towards the end of last season.
However, there’re still a couple of major changes that need to be made before the season gets underway, with many of our local residents beginning to get frustrated.
Sheffield Wednesday’s hopes of enjoying a successful campaign could all be thrown out the window over the next few weeks, as transfer window failures could come back to bite them.
Without further ado, here’s TWO things that supporters would be concerned with…
Palmer decides to leave
Liam Palmer is receiving interest from fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon via his personal Twitter account.
The right-back is likely to sign a new deal at Hillsborough, but he could still look to move away this summer as nothing is finalised.
So, the Owls could begin the season without an established right-back, which could potentially force them to take a step backwards.
Fail to dump Jordan Rhodes
Jordan Rhodes move to Norwich City collapsed recently, much to the disappointment of many of our local residents.
The Owls just can’t seem to get rid of the striker this summer after witnessing his woeful goalscoring campaign last time out in Sheffield.
And, failing to ship him out on loan or in the form of a permanent deal could also cause problems for Sheffield Wednesday when it comes down to bringing in players, as they’ll need all the funds and space they can get.
