Patrick Bamford pushing for start in Leeds’ Yorkshire derby

Leeds United will be looking to continue their fine form this season when they meet Rotherham United on Saturday in a Yorkshire derby.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently sitting on a 100% record after impressive back-to-back wins against Stoke City and Derby County.

The Argentine has certainly got the Whites playing attractive football and has seen his team net seven goals in their opening two matches in the Championship.

Bielsa changed his team for their midweek League Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers, which was another victory for the Elland Road outfit, however, he is likely to revert back to the team that outclassed the Potters and the Rams.

One change that he could possibly make, according to the club’s official website, is to bring Patrick Bamford into the starting lineup after he netted against the Trotters on Tuesday.

The striker joined from Middlesbrough in the transfer window and will be looking to continue his fine form from the opening game and will want to make an impression if given the chance.

Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw are thought to be the only absentees for the clash at Elland Road, with the pair still struggling with their respective injuries.

The Verdict:

Bielsa will be looking to make it three wins from three in the Championship as they look to take control of the division.

Leeds have been playing some impressive football under the Argentine and will want to make sure that continues in their Yorkshire derby.

Bamford will be pushing for a starting place, however, with Kemar Roofe in the form of his life at the moment, it remains to be seen if this summer’s acquisition can get in ahead of him.
