The Watford fans inside the Transfer Tavern are happy to have survived another season in the Premier League but continue to worry about the future of Javi Garcia, knowing how their club are renowned for chopping and changing managers.
A successful start to the season with new additions brought new life into the club who previously lacked it. They were initially challenging the top teams in the league but as predicted, their form dropped off for the club to sustain another mid-table finish.
A summer spend will hopefully be likely for the Hornets again this summer and after the early success of Brazilian winger Richarlison, why shouldn’t Watford try their luck again with another Brazilian winger named Raphinha, who is valued at £5.40 million on Transfermarkt.
The 21-year-old plays his football out in Brazil with Vitoria Guimaraes and he’s scored 18 goals as well as bagging 6 assists so far this season. Although the standard is nowhere near the Premier League, the potential shown by the young Brazilian invites you to believe that given the opportunity, he could prosper in England.
It is most definitely a risk to sign another Brazilian player seeing how Richarlison has dropped his form in recent weeks but the dynamic and energic start he made to life at Watford was undeniably brilliant and Watford would hope they could uncover another gem in the form of Raphinha.
It will not be an easy campaign next year for Watford as their rivals strengthen so they have to confront the transfer market head on and uncover talent capable of sustaining their Premier League superiority.
