It would be safe to say that Sam Winnall has not had the easiest of times recently as a Sheffield Wednesday player.
The striker has spent almost a year on the sidelines with a serious injury, having made his last senior appearance in February, before being hit with another knock as he was closing in on a return.
Jos Luhukay has revealed in the past that the Owls will need to be patient to see the 27-year-old back in first-team action.
However, Winnall, who has admitted that it has been the hardest challenge he has ever come up against, revealed that he has had a great feeling recently and is hopeful that he can make a return very soon.

Been a long time since I had this feeling and wow do I miss it! This challenge I’ve faced in the form of an injury has been the hardest I’ve ever come up against but I’m fighting everyday mentally, in the gym, on the grass to get back on the pitch in even better condition than I was in this photo. It’s made me hungrier for more wins, more goals and more success. Hopefully the tap ins aren’t too far away now #NoFeelingLikeIt
Posting a photo on Instagram, the striker stated that he is continuing to fight and is working hard to be in even better condition than before.
Although it remains to be seen when Winnall will make his return to the Sheffield Wednesday side, it will give them a boost that he is working hard to make a return.
The 27-year-old is a deadly threat in front of goal and is someone that Luhukay’s side could do with as they struggle to find the results they need in the Championship.
It has been a difficult year for Winnall, however, with him in what appears to be a positive mood, hopefully, it will not be too long before he is back on the Hillsborough pitch.
