The Sheffield Wednesday fans in the Transfer Tavern are really disheartened after such a poor season resulted in them finishing 15th and considering how they performed in the 2016/17, that is a big regression.
Wednesday this season were without a player who could score 15 goals or more and so ahead of the new Championship campaign in August, an influential top forward should be brought to the club if they are to have any chance of amending this shambolic season. Our punters believe that Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa, who is on loan at Brighton, would be the perfect striker to come into the Sheffield Wednesday attack.
The striker, who is rated at £4.5 million by Transfer Markt, has endured a tough couple of season having been brushed to the side at Leicester even after his impact with the Foxes in his first few seasons. That has continued at Brighton this season, having made just 2 league starts.
For a talented talisman that simply isn’t enough but to revitalise his form, a drop down into the Championship may just be what’s required.
The move should, on paper, be an attractive preposition for both parties. Ulloa would get regular football and the home crowd at Hillsborough would be able to cheer on a top striker who could be capable of surpassing the 15 goal mark next season.
At 31, Ulloa is starting to realise that he must settle down with a team or potentially face the last few years of his career being a disaster. With only 1 year left on his current Leicester City deal, Ulloa should take his attacking ability elsewhere with Sheffield Wednesday having the potential to be a fantastic new home.
