Sheffield Wednesday could do with bringing in goalkeeper at some point this month as they are currently struggling for quality in that area.

The Owls will have their sights set firmly on pushing for a play-off place this season, but they could do with dipping into the loan market before the window shuts. And, one player who has shown plenty of promise and could impress in the Championship is Newcastle United's Freddie Woodman, who is currently valued at 450k, and so perhaps the Owls should consider strengthening in-between the sticks.

Freddie Woodman won the Golden Glove as he helped England lift the U20 World Cup trophy last summer, saving a penalty in the final against Venezuela. However, he didn't manage to nail down a first-team place last season as he was sent out on loan to Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen for the second half of the campaign. The 21-year-old will be desperate to nail down a permanent place in the Magpies' first-team at some point, but another loan spell seems like the only option for the Englishman at this moment in time.

He’s a very solid all-round goalkeeper with a tall, skinny physique, who excels in one vs one situations, with his mixture of bravery and composure. The Owls are currently struggling for quality in-between the sticks, so bringing Newcastle's Woodman to the club could prove to be a handy bit of business come the end of the season.

Sheffield Wednesday didn't exactly make the most of the summer transfer window which is now officially shut, but Jos Luhukay is still able to bring players to Hillsborough in the form of a loan deal up until the 31st, so moving for a promising goalkeeper could work wonders this season.

Would Freddie Woodman be a shrewd signing for Sheffield Wednesday… Let us know!
