Sheffield Wednesday will be facing an anxious wait of one of their players as he looked to make a return to the first-team.
The 29-year-old was making his first appearance for the Under-23 side on Monday, however, he had to leave the field just 15 minutes in.
The midfielder has been struggling with a hip problem that he picked up last December and would have been desperate to get a significant amount of playing time under his belt.
Neil Thompson, who is the manager of the developmental side, stated the medical team would need to have a look at him, however, he had admitted that he had not yet to speak to them about their concerns.
“The first-team staff will have a look at him as we go forward,” he told the Star.
“He is a quality player and one or two of these first-team lads need football. Hoops is coming back and obviously Foxy needs some football. It was a good high intensity game for them.
“I have not spoken to the medical staff on that. Kieran has obviously had one or two issues but that’s not for me to say. He got some minutes in so we will obviously see how he is tomorrow.”
Jos Luhukay will be hoping that Lee’s latest setback is not too serious as Sheffield Wednesday enter a crucial stage of the season.
The manager will have been hopeful that the midfielder would have been able to get through the Under-23 match unscathed.
Lee has been vital for the Owls when he has been able to play for them, however, they will now be sweating on whether he has another lengthy setback on the sidelines, or if he will be able to make a return in the near future.
