Sheffield Wednesday will look to bounce back from their defeat to Derby County at the weekend when they host Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.
Matches in the Championship will start to come thick and fast for Jos Luhukay’s side now and the pressure is thought to be mounting on the Dutchman to pick up results.
The Owls had a good start to the campaign, however, they have since struggled to get results and will need pick up wins against the likes of their opponents on Tuesday, who currently sit in the bottom three.
Steven Fletcher remains a doubt for Sheffield Wednesday as continues to manage the knee problem he suffered with last season.
Having put in a good couple of performances for Scotland during the most recent international break, Luhukay would have been hopeful that the experienced striker would be available for the festive period.
Joost van Aken is set to continue his comeback with a match in the Under-23s, whilst a number of players remain unavailable on the sidelines.
Sheffield Wednesday need to start finding results quickly and the game against Bolton could be an ideal opportunity for Luhukay’s side to pick up the three points.
The Owls have not won a game since their away win at Bristol City in early October, sending them on a six-game winless streak.
However, with Fletcher being doubtful and Bolton in a desperate situation themselves, they could be in for a tough night at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.
