Sheffield Wednesday will meet Swansea City at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon as Steve Bruce looks to turn their draws into wins.
The Owls have taken a point from their last three matches in a row as they start to climb the Championship table, which will be encouraging as Wednesday will now play three home games in a row following back-to-back away fixtures.
The Welsh outfit have had a mixed run of results recently and Bruce will want to see his side continue their fine form and take advantage of Swansea’s inconsistency.
However, their task may have been made a little more challenging with the news that one of their key men is unavailable.
According to a match preview on the club’s official website, Fernando Forestieri will not be involved in the fixture as he will need to serve his one-game suspension.
The striker was shown a second yellow card in the match against Rotherham for celebrating with the crowd and will now miss the visit of Swansea.
George Boyd may also miss the game through illness, whilst Jordan Thorniley is on the sidelines after he picked up a knock to the head in last weekend’s draw.
Bruce does have some good news though, as Tom Lees is back in contention as he has recovered from the shin injury that has kept him out for the last three games.
Forestieri’s absence will come as a potentially huge blow to Sheffield Wednesday and Bruce on Saturday as the player has the ability to win games for them.
The striker has had his troubles with injury this season and has been a shadow of himself at times, however, there is no doubt he has moments of magic that The Owls need.
A win will be extremely important for the Hillsborough outfit, as it will lift them towards the teams in the middle of the Championship, whilst it would be a huge momentum boost for their next two fixtures at home.
