Sheffield Wednesday still find themselves in a promising position in the race for a play-off spot, despite dropping two points against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday.
The Owls have looked like a completely different side under Steve Bruce as they now find themselves firmly in the play-off race, but it won’t be easy as the teams above are constantly grinding out results.
Whats the news?
Sadly, Rolando Aarons’ current injury situation has put a downer on the mood at Hillsborough, as according to the Sheffield Star, Steve Bruce doesn’t know when the attacker will return to action.
The winger had to pull out of Saturday’s game after the warm-up.
“He rolled his ankle and was not comfortable on it.
“We thought he would be okay. He wanted to play.
“He went out in the warm up and was not comfortable at all.
“It was a reaction to yesterday (Friday) really. He came through that but was sore today and could not run it off.”
Rolando Aarons has impressed since rocking up at Hillsborough but he needs to find a way to produce more contributions in the final third if he is to secure a permanent move.
Although, his current injury could play a big part in his future as Bruce remains uncertain on when the attacker could return, which may mean that he doesn’t get much of an opportunity to influence the Owls’ play-off push.
Nevertheless, fans will be sad to see him out of the side as he’s created plenty of excitement already and he has the ability to play a big part from here on in until the end of the season.
Sheffield Wednesday fans, how worried are you about Aarons’ absence?
