Steven Fletcher doubtful for Bolton test

Steven Fletcher doubtful for Bolton test

Steve Bruce has already worked wonders since rocking up at Hillsborough Stadium, and it’s safe to say that one of his January signings is also playing a big part as Dominic Iorfa continues to thrive.

Sheffield Wednesday will travel to the Macron Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers in their next Championship fixture tonight. The Trotters are looking to preserve their Championship status and they’ll head into today’s game off the back of a 2-1 win over Millwall, so they’ll be full of confidence in front of home support.

What’s the news?

However, one big blow for the Owls is the fact that Steven Fletcher is doubtful, according to Sky Sports.

Although, Steve Bruce remains hopeful the forward will prove his fitness.

Gary Hooper is still out having not featured for over a year, while Achraf Lazaar remains sidelined after missing the last two games due to a hamstring problem.

The Verdict:

Steven Fletcher has been a key performer for the Owls in the current campaign having produced eight goals and four assists, so fans will be gutted that he’s doubtful ahead of tonight’s game. Atdhe Nuhiu has struggled to ensure consistency in front of goal this season, so Fletcher’s potential absence could prove costly.

Supporters will be desperate to welcome Lazaar and Forestieri back into the side in the near future as the Owls could do with extra firepower in the final third. The Moroccan has only managed to feature in two games since joining on loan but he’s already looked bright on the ball and fans know exactly what Forestieri is capable of.

Sheffield Wednesday fans, do you feel like your side can secure all three points without Fletcher?
