Summer loan move for £7.2m-rated one-cap England man would really help Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for better things next season with Aitor Karanka at the helm, but summer reinforcements are needed if the Reds are to challenge for promotion.

The Reds are stuck at 17th in the Championship table following a season to forget and travel to Bolton Wanderers for their final fixture hoping to end the campaign on a high. Indeed, attention has already turned to revamping the squad in the summer with various names being rumoured in the press.

One positive to come from this season, however, is the fact that Forest striker, Ben Brereton, is considered one of the Championship’s brightest prospects. However, the 19-year-old is a still a raw talent and would benefit from the Reds bolstering their forward line. A 20-goal striker is vital to challenge for promotion, something which Karanka currently lacks.

To that end, an ambitious move for Liverpool’s Dominic Solanke could be the answer to his problems. The 20-year-old joined from rivals Chelsea in the summer when his contract expired, though has largely operated as a back-up. Indeed, the youngster has failed to net in 19 Premier League appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s men and could certainly do with a loan spell in which to develop. With Roberto Firmino in fine form, Solanke is unlikely to find much game time next season.

A loan move could be the perfect solution and Forest should go all out for his services on loan. Valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, Solanke could be the forward to fire the Reds to the Premier League.

Forest fans, would Dominic Solanke be a good signing for the Reds? Let us know!
