Surely Bielsa is fearful this Leeds United duo will leave Elland Road soon

Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that Marcelo Bielsa can bring success to Elland Road in the next campaign. Although, the South American will need to make sure that he holds onto some of the club’s current stars.

The Whites had a season to forget last time out as they arguably took a step backwards after appointing Paul Heckingbottom, as their impressive early-season form unravelled.

Although, things are looking up with the highly-respected Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, who will be looking to secure promotion to the Premier League next season. But, there are still a number of changes that need to be made with gaps to fill in the current squad.

Sadly, losing a couple of star players could completely ruin Bielsa’s current plans and would put Leeds’ campaign in real danger.

With that being said, surely Bielsa is fearful this Leeds duo will leave Elland Road soon…

Pontus Jansson

The Swedish defender has impressed at the World Cup thus far and was one of Leeds United’s standout performers in the last campaign.

Although, having put in such high quality performances last season, the central defender has surely attracted a lot of interest this summer and could push for a move to a higher level.

There’s no doubt that Pontus Jansson will be a huge part of Bielsa’s plans if he decides to stay at Elland Road, but many of our local residents cannot help but be fearful about his future.

Jay-Roy Grot

The young striker had a disastrous first season at Elland Road but there’s no doubt that he has the potential to become a star of the game if he gets his head down and develops his ability in training.

Indeed, if Leeds end up letting the Dutchman go then they run the risk of him developing into a superstar at another club having shown signs of brilliance during his time in Holland.

But, with Marcelo Bielsa looking to slim down on the current squad before the start of next season, the forward may decide that his footballing career would be better off elsewhere.
