It’s no real secret that Newcastle United are struggling on and off the pitch this year.
As one of three teams who haven’t yet secured a victory in the league so far this season – alongside Cardiff and Huddersfield – the Magpies currently occupy a very miserable looking 19th place. For there to even be the remotest of chances to stay in the Premier League, some serious changes need to be made to the squad, and board. But that’s a topic for another day.
With Mike Ashley unwilling to part with his money for anything other than a failing department store, bringing in loan players seems to be the only option available to Rafa Benitez. That in mind, here are two loan signings we believe could transform the club…
Currently playing for Real Madrid, after moving from Real Sociedad this summer, the Spanish right-back could do a good job of plugging the holes in Newcastle’s defence whilst providing a very decent attacking outlet. His play style has been compared to that of Hector Bellerin so, if the move was ever made, fans can be expecting high energy, dynamism, and bags of pace.
This move is unlikely, given he’s only just settled at the club, but it wouldn’t be out of the question…
Candreva’s future at Inter Milan was in doubt earlier this year (as per CalcioMercato), with the club making a number of new signings in his position this summer.
Evidence suggests that he’s getting some playtime under his belt so the transfer may be unlikely now, but there’s always the chance that Benitez would be able to use his extensive influence to bring the experienced midfielder this January.
Of course, this could be mean leaving behind European football for Candreva; however, stranger things have happened.
If he joins, the one thing to look out for his exceptional long shot ability.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
