Marcelo Bielsa is thought to be keen on adding a winger to his Leeds United team this January as they look to push on with their bid to win promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites have looked a little bare at times in the wide position and at times have failed to be as creative as the Argentine would surely have liked.
Ezgjan Alioski is one player at Elland Road that has failed to make a real impact this season, leading to suggestions that Bielsa may target Steven Zuber with a possible move – although they will have to wait until the summer.
However, would the £9million-rated experienced international (per Transfermarkt) improve their options immediately, or are they better off with the Macedonian they already have in their ranks?
Alioski joined Leeds from FC Lugano back in the summer of 2017 when Thomas Christiansen and Gwyn Williams splashed out £2.25m for him, per Transfermarkt.
The Macedonia international had a fairly solid first season at Elland Road, having been nominated for their Player of the Year Award after putting in a number of important contributions.
Despite having four goals and three assists to his name in the Championship this season, there have been some concerns with his performances at times under Bielsa.
The Argentine has used the 26-year-old winger in a left-back role at times following the injury problems the Whites have had this year.

Zuber’s time at Hoffenheim certainly appears to be coming to an end and Leeds have been credited with holding an interest in the experienced Switzerland international, although he has just completed a temporary move to VfB Stuttgart.

In his 99 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, he has eight goals and eight assists to his name, suggesting that he could possess the creativity needed to take Leeds to the next level.
Although he will not be able to join Leeds for their efforts to win promotion to the top-flight now, he could be considered an immediate upgrade should they be playing in the Premier League next season.

There will be a sense of disappointment that Leeds were unable to land Zuber this January as he would have been a better option over the Macedonian already in the side.
Still heavily featured in the first-team, Alioski would certainly need to improve if the likes of Zuber were to arrive at Elland Road.
However, it appears that he will now have that chance to shine and show he can play in Bielsa’s system – unless the Argentine finds another suitable target to help take them to the Premier League.
