TT Battle: Ronan Curtis vs Kieffer Moore

Portsmouth currently find themselves sitting at the top of the League One table, while Barnsley occupy a play-off place.

Pompey will feel confident that they can go all the way to secure the League One title and promotion to the Championship this season. Meanwhile, the Tykes have struggled to ensure consistency in recent times, so they may have to settle for a play-off spot under Daniel Stendel.

Interestingly, Portsmouth will travel to Oakwell to face Barnsley at the weekend, so we took a look at Ronan Curtis and Kieffer Moore’s influence at their respective clubs.

With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…

RONAN CURTIS

Kenny Jackett secured a stunning coup by bringing Ronan Curtis to Fratton Park for an undisclosed fee from Derry City back in the summer transfer window, as he has proved to be priceless in their push for the League One title.

The Republic of Ireland international already has seven goals and seven assists in the current campaign, which has caught the eye of a number of clubs higher up the Football League.

Indeed, at the age of 22, the sky is the limit for the exciting winger as he is already showing signs of becoming a future star of the game, both on the international stage and domestically.

TT GRADE: A

KIEFFER MOORE

Barnsley signed Kieffer Moore for an undisclosed fee back in January of this year.

The forward has proved to be one of the best signings that the club has ever made as he continues to bang in the goals in the current campaign, with 13 goals to his name in all competitions.

However, he has struggled for support at times as he seems to be the only one producing in the side when things get tough, which has made it difficult for Barnsley to pick up points.

TT VERDICT:

When comparing these two, it’s clear to see that Curtis is making all the headlines at Portsmouth as he continues to spearhead their promotion push, while Kieffer Moore is carrying the main goalscoring load on his shoulders at Barnsley under Daniel Stendel.

Curtis is a special talent and he will no doubt go on to achieve big things in English football and on the international stage, so he is definitely one to watch out for.

On the other hand, Moore has been a predator in front of goal this season as one of the most dangerous strikers in the Football League, so he at least deserves to secure promotion this season.

Both players have already showcased their talents throughout the current campaign, but it’s Curtis who is stealing Moore’s limelight at this moment in time as he and Portsmouth continue to dominate.
