When Chelsea outcast Gary Cahill was linked to Sheffield Wednesday recently, manager Jos Luhukay was quick to react.
The Dutchman dismissed the former Champions League winner, saying that he was too old for The Owls, and that he is only interested in younger players to help develop his team.
Cahill, a boyhood Wednesday fan, is only 32, and may still have many good years ahead of him. Furthermore, it has only been this season that he has failed to feature a lot for Chelsea. In fact, he still warranted a place in England’s World Cup squad over the summer.
That is why it seemed strange for Luhukay to react in such a way, as he could have seriously provided a lot at Hillsborough.

Clearly, there are a lot of fans that still think that Cahill is capable of doing a job for The Owls. However, 33% is still a fair number of sceptical fans.
