West Brom have made an average start to their Championship season. They currently sit in ninth place with three wins, a draw and two losses.
While The Baggies have looked impressive at times, they have also looked underwhelming at others. They have not been helped by the clubs transfer dealings.
Many fans were critical of their club for not recruiting enough players throughout the transfer window, believing the club are paying the price for it. To make matters worse, they also lost some of their high profile players.
In the final days of the transfer window, West Brom winger Nacer Chadli left The Hawthorns for Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, leaving The Baggies no time to find a replacement. This is something that Darren Moore and everyone involved with the midlands club, should have seen coming after his brilliant World Cup, but failed to act.
That is why singing out of contract Bakary Sako (valued at £4.5m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) would be the perfect replacement. This is as close as you can get to a like-for-like replacement outside of the transfer window, with both players possessing power and skill on the left flank.
This would be a major boost to Moore, who has been deploying Kieran Gibbs on the left this season. While the fullback has played very well in that role, the addition of more options will certainly not do any harm to the standard of performances in the club.
EFL clubs still have the opportunity to sign free agents, and former Crystal Palace winger Sako is waiting to be snapped up by someone.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
