West Brom team news: Bartley unavailable for Moore as they head to Wales - Championship

West Bromwich Albion will want to continue their ascent up the Championship table when they travel to Wales and meet Swansea City on Wednesday night.

The Baggies recorded a 2-1 win against Ipswich Town on Friday night and have had an extra day to prepare for the contest against their fellow former Premier League colleagues.

Darren Moore’s side have made a return to winning ways in recent weeks, including a thumping 4-1 result against Leeds United, which has brought back some confidence to The Hawthorns outfit.

The Swans are not in the best of form themselves at the moment, having been beaten by current Championship leaders Norwich City 4-1 at the weekend and West Brom will want to take advantage of that.

However, according to a match preview by Sky Sports, they will be without one of their key men, whilst one other remains doubtful.

The trip to Wales has come too quickly for Kyle Bartley, who will miss the game against his former club after not fully recovering from the knee problem that sidelined him.

Bakary Sako is a doubt and will need to be assessed after he picked up a slight knock in training prior to the Ipswich trip and saw him miss out on that fixture.

The Verdict:

West Brom have started to pick up results once again after hitting a dry patch and Moore will want to see that continue on Wednesday night at the Liberty Stadium.

Three points for the Baggies will take them level with Sheffield United, whilst it could also give them some much-needed breathing space in what has become a congested Championship table.

However, the absence of Bartley and Sako could come as a blow to the Midlanders, although there will be a sense of confidence that they can return to The Hawthorns with a win.
