West Brom would like to think their squad is in good shape to launch a promotion bid this season at the first time of trying.
Since their relegation last season, Darren Moore has brought out the best in his West Brom players and belief is flowing around the Hawthorns.
It will be a challenging task but West Brom are seemingly well prepared to launch a promotion challenge this season, especially if they make important improvements during the January transfer window.
Loan star Tosin Adarabioyo has filled in remarkably well at right-back since West Brom changed their system but recruiting someone who is experienced in that role could be a good option for the Baggies to consider.
Without a club right now, Jesus Gamez would be a sensible signing for West Brom.
Gamez, who is valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt, remains a free agent after his release from Newcastle in the summer.
The 33-year-old’s time at Newcastle unsurprisingly came to an end when he made just two appearances in the Premier League last season.
The Magpies shouldn’t forget though how valuable the Spaniard was during their time in the Championship, his ability to step in any time when needed was vital at times.
Not only could he make the starting 11 for West Brom but he could be a helpful player for Adarabioyo to learn from and improve his game.
There’s no hiding the fact he isn’t getting any younger but one final move back to England could ensure his name is remembered better than just the player that was released from Newcastle.
Do you agree West Brom should sign Gamez… Let us know!
