Sheffield Wednesday have had a torrid run of results recently that has seen them slip back towards the relegation spot.
The Owls, who appeared to stop the rot with a hard-fought goalless draw with arch-rivals Sheffield United in the Steel City Derby, had failed to pick up any points in between the two latest international breaks.
That run of results had put a serious amount of pressure on Jos Luhukay, and although it is believed that there is no real concern from the owners just yet, but if things do not improve quickly, the Dutchman could find himself departing from Hillsborough sooner rather than later.
The Owls will meet Derby County at home on Saturday, before going up against the likes of Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers as games start to come at them at a rapid pace.
The Yorkshire outfit have actually managed to perform well against the sides that are challenging for a place in next season’s Premier League, with impressive draws against the likes of Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion.
However, they have struggled to keep the goals out of their own net this season, with the goalless draw against the Blades their first clean sheet of the campaign.
And, with some clubs having already acted this season, there could be some interesting names starting to pop up that the board may be interested in bringing to Hillsborough should things not improve.
Slavisa Jokanovic became one of the latest high-profile managers to become available and could be tempted to drop back down to the Championship after successful spells with Watford and Fulham.
