Plymouth Argyle have really struggled to get going in League One this year.
Derek Adams’ side currently sit just one place from the bottom of the table, with just six wins to their name.
The Pilgrims have found it difficult to keep the goals out of their net, having conceded 47 times in their 26 games so far – with only Rochdale and Scunthorpe United having shipped more than them.
Matt Macy has been their number one this season, having arrived from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal, however, his future at Plymouth could come under scrutiny this January with the transfer window open.
The 24-year-old has had his work cut out for him in the south-west as the club as a whole have really struggled to get anything going, but the club could look to replace him as he fails to impress many of those at Argyle.
Remi Matthews could make a return to the club as it is believed Norwich City are prepared to offload him this season.
Matthews spent last season on loan with The Pilgrims and became a favourite at the Home Park outfit as he helped them with a number of impressive performances.
With the 24-year-old thought to be available, Macy’s side in the team could be under real threat as Plymouth could opt to try and bring Matthews back.
It remains to be seen if the Norwich man would be open to a return, or if Adams looks to bring him back at all, but with it a possibility, the current number one could have a real nervy January ahead of him.
