Portsmouth are flying high at the top of League One this season as they appear to be strong favourites to win promotion to the Championship.
Kenny Jackett’s side hold a five-point lead at the summit of the division with Luton Town and Sunderland leading the chasing pack.
Pompey have managed to record 17 wins in their 26 matches so far and a number of men have played a key role in their current efforts.
However, it could be argued that one man has played a more significant role than others, which will lead to questions about his future on the south coast.
Ronan Curtis has emerged as a star for Portsmouth this season, having scored nine goals and providing eight assists in his 24 appearances.
The Republic of Ireland international only joined up with the south coast outfit in the summer following a switch from Derry City.
However, the 22-year-old future at Fratton Park could be over almost as quickly as it had begun.
Curtis’ performances have not gone unnoticed by a number of clubs in the Championship with the likes of Leeds United and Middlesbrough credited with an interest in the past, although speculation appears to have calmed down recently.
Whilst the Irishman is playing at an excellent level for Portsmouth, it could be difficult for the club to keep hold of him this January.
Pompey, however, will want to see Curtis continue his form as they continue to try and push for a return to the Championship.
