‘Would be like a lonely child losing his beloved father’ – Leeds fans react to Twitter transfer rumour

According to rumours surfacing from Twitter, Middlesbrough are eyeing Leeds keeper Rob Green – though our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern remains sceptical about this gossip.

The former England international signed for United last summer and played every Championship game.

Leeds narrowly missed out on a play-off place, but after impressing during his first season at the club, Green signed a new one-year contract extension at the club in March.

Green conceded 47 times, but kept 15 clean sheets for The Whites as they finished 7th in the Championship.

The 37-year-old will surely be desperate to have one more run of Premier League football and with the lack of stability at Leeds, a move to Boro could be favourable.

Former Leeds boss Garry Monk left the club at the end of last season, just two days after Andrea Radrizzani completed his takeover of the club.

Leeds fans have been reacting indifferently to the rumours on Twitter….
