# Liverpool: Fans upset with latest Timo Werner update

**Timo Werner to Liverpool has arguably been the transfer saga of the year so far.**

Even with a global pandemic, there continues to be questions as to whether the RB Leipzig forward will be making the switch to Anfield during the next transfer window. There had been a point when it looked as though it was almost guaranteed that he would be completing the switch (SPORT [via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-close-signing-liverpool-competitors-award-transfer-situation/)) but the latest update from Sky Sports appears to pour cold water on that.

[According to Vinny O’Connor](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11978213/liverpool-transfer-centre-qa-werner-saka-karius), the Reds are very unlikely to make a move for the Germany international, even if he does fancy the switch himself – O’Connor even said that the presence of Takumi Minamino, who was signed in January, is another reason why they will not press ahead.

The Liverpool supporters, it seems, are far from happy with this latest update – one fan even called it “sad news”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

> If this is true question has to be asked – are we afraid of progression? Watch Mancs and Chelsea buy big…Werner is tailor made for LFC and undoubtedly we need quality squad depth…as shown with VVD and Alisson money can buy you success

> Typical [@LFC](https://twitter.com/LFC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) when we bought minamino for that amount by January I knew something was up we’re slowly treading the part of [@Arsenal](https://twitter.com/Arsenal?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) under wenger I pray we don’t end up like that, Kloop will not be here forever so I wonder what the board are really planning for the aftermath
