# Everton: Tom Davies could reject new deal and leave this summer

**[Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) reporter for The Athletic Greg O’Keeffe says that Tom Davies could turn down a new contract offer and leave this summer.**

### The Lowdown: Out of contract

Davies is [out of contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-davies/profil/spieler/314210) at Goodison Park in the summer, meaning that he could leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

The central midfielder has only made a mere 17 appearances in total so far this term, with only five of them starts, and only four coming in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-davies/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314210/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

### The Latest: Summer exit?

Writing for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/4291442/2023/03/11/tom-davies-everton-future/?source=emp_shared_article), O’Keeffe says that there is little to suggest that Davies will be offered a new deal at the Merseyside club.

The journalist adds that even if he is, there is a chance that he would turn it down, and leave this summer.

### The Verdict: Time to go…

Unfortunately for Davies, he has not been able to cement a regular place in the first team, and so it is time for all parties to part ways.

He did come on for a [10-minute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-davies/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314210/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) cameo in the 1-0 win at home to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, but has largely played a bit-part role under [Sean Dyche](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/sean-dyche/).

On [£25,000-per-week](https://fbref.com/en/squads/d3fd31cc/2022-2023/wages/Everton-Wage-Details), Davies is one of the lowest earners in the squad, and so the Toffees will not miss him too much should he leave.
