# Tottenham: Spurs ‘definitely’ exploring Adama Traore transfer

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) are ‘definitely’ considering a move for Wolves winger Adama Traore, according to [transfer insider](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) Dean Jones.**

### The lowdown: Traore out of favour

Having previously been a [key figure](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2021/03/06/wolves-boss-nuno-there-is-no-player-like-adama-traore/) for former Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo at the Midlands club, the 26-year-old now finds himself out of favour at Molineux, playing just [half an hour](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/leistungsdaten/spieler/204103) over the first four games of the Premier League season and [yet to be handed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/leistungsdaten/spieler/204103) a top-flight start in 2022/23.

The Spain international was [sent on loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/transfers/spieler/204103) to his former club Barcelona last term, having fallen down the pecking order under Bruno Lage.

[Linked](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12524552/adama-traore-tottenham-hotspur-closing-in-on-signing-wolverhampton-wanderers-winger) with Tottenham earlier this year, one well-informed onlooker has suggested that the north Londoners could still land Traore in the final days of the summer transfer window…

### The latest: Spurs still chasing Traore

Speaking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88052639-tottenham-now-definitely-exploring-deal-for-19-goal-star-at-hotspur-way), Jones – a journalist for [Eurosport](https://www.eurosport.com/dean-jones_aut2710/author.shtml) – has claimed that Spurs are keen on bringing the [eight-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/nationalmannschaft/spieler/204103/verein_id/3375) dynamo to N17.

He said: “I think Spurs is definitely one that is being explored. The way that he could be used in Conte’s system is very interesting. I know that they have gone back to the table and they obviously looked at Traore a while back.”

### The verdict: Do it

[Capable](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/204103) of playing anywhere across the frontline, in deeper positions and as a wing-back, signing Traore would certainly add another impressive squad option to Antonio Conte’s ranks.

With the 52-year-old [favouring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/spielplandatum/verein/148) a 3-4-3 formation throughout the majority of his managerial career, the Spaniard would likely operate as a right-wing back for the Lilywhites, perhaps as an impact substitute given his [lightning-quick](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjlsr6ap-n5AhVJEsAKHRGlB5IQFnoECAwQAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftalksport.com%2Ffootball%2F1070037%2Fmohamed-salah-adama-traore-antonio-rudiger-fastest-premier-league-players%2F%23%3A~%3Atext%3DThe%2520German%2520defender%2520knocked%2520up%2Cspeed%2520of%252036.2%2520km%252Fh.&usg=AOvVaw06jI99IfV_R5f5f8eErCr_) pace.

Haivng seem Tottenham also linked with [Anthony Gordon](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-anthony-gordon-ruslan-malinovskyi-transfer-gossip-news-updates/), [Ruslan Malinovskyi](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-ruslan-malinovskyi-hakim-ziyech-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) and [Hakim Ziyech](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/spurs-news-chelsea-conte-paratici-ziyech-move-thfc/), it’s clear to see that Fabio Paratici is still actively seeking wide options to bolster the ranks at Hotspur Way.

Despite holding an estimated market value of [£18m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/marktwertverlauf/spieler/204103), Traore is now into the [final 12 months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/profil/spieler/204103) of his Wolves contract and could [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-wolves-will-accept-10m-adama-traore-bid-after-everton-make-move/) be available for as little as £10m. Therefore, Tottenham should be pushing to land the player who was described as ‘[so explosive](https://twitter.com/joel_archie/status/1220465621353271296)‘ by journalist Joel Rabinowitz before Thursday night’s deadline.
