# Tottenham: Spurs ‘100 per cent’ still want Anthony Gordon

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) have a ‘definite interest’ in signing Everton winger Anthony Gordon this summer, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.**

### The lowdown: Hot prospect

A product of the youth system at Everton, Gordon spent time [on loan at Preston North End](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/transfers/spieler/503733) before enjoying a breakthrough 2021/22 campaign.

The 21-year-old England youth international was a [key component](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/anthony-gordon-everton-23551954) in the Merseyside outfit’s survival last term and remains an integral part of Frank Lampard’s squad.

However, [Newcastle](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-premier-league-anthony-gordon-transfer-news-updates/), [Chelsea](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12679631/anthony-gordon-chelsea-prepared-to-pay-up-to-60m-for-everton-forward) and indeed [Tottenham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-anthony-gordon-ruslan-malinovskyi-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) have all been credited with an interest this summer and one well-informed onlooker has suggested that a move could still be on the cards…

### The latest: ‘Definite interest’

Speaking to [Give Me Sport](https://www.givemesport.com/88052236-tottenham-definitely-interested-in-60m-star-at-hotspur-way), Taylor – a journalist for the [Daily Express](https://twitter.com/RyanTaylorSport?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) – claimed that there is ‘definite interest’ from Spurs in the [four-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503733/verein_id/9565) Under 21 starlet.

He said: “Anthony Gordon is one where there’s definite interest in him, 100 per cent. Obviously, Spurs looked to include him in the deal for Richarlison as a double package, but I think the problem for Tottenham at the moment is Chelsea are willing to pay big, big money that I don’t think Tottenham will match.”

### The verdict: Worth a bid

Despite strengthening the frontline with the arrivals of Richarlison and previously Dejan Kulusevski, links persist with the likes of [Ruslan Malinovskyi](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-ruslan-malinovskyi-hakim-ziyech-transfer-gossip-news-updates/), [Hakim Zieych](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/spurs-news-chelsea-conte-paratici-ziyech-move-thfc/) and of course, Gordon himself, suggesting there is a desire to add one more option to Antonio Conte’s squad.

Any potential arrival could also be offset by the likely loan exit of [Bryan Gil](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-bryan-gil-ruslan-malinovskyi-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) as the young Spaniard heads out in search of further development.

Described as a [‘fearless’](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fearless-attitude-alan-shearers-praise-24422596) player by Alan Shearer, the Liverpudlian’s [versatility](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/503733), direct running style and never say die attitude would all be welcomed into the Lilywhites’ ranks and as such, Fabio Paratici should be keeping at least a close eye on the situation.
