# Tottenham Hotspur: Arkadiusz Milik snubs Spurs for Juventus in bitter blow for Mourinho

**Serie A champions Juventus are set to sign Tottenham target Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli, according to reports.**

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to find a backup striker for [Harry Kane](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-transfer-rumours-arkadiusz-milik-target-juventus-levy/) this summer as Spurs struggled to score goals during his lengthy [absence](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/leistungsdaten/spieler/132098).

Milik has been linked with a number of European clubs ahead of a busy transfer window. According to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-la-scelta-tra-zapata-e-milik-e-fatta-i-tre-giocatori-coinvo-71725), as cited by [football.london](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-rumours-gossip-18685582), Juve are the front-runners to bring the Poland international to the Allianz Stadium.

The Lilywhites will now have to look elsewhere as he has snubbed Spurs in favour of a move to the Serie A giants in a bitter blow for Mourinho.

The Polish striker, who has been likened to Arsenal legend [Dennis Bergkamp](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-transfer-rumours-arkadiusz-milik-target-juventus-levy/), has impressed at the Stadio San Paolo ever since he arrived from [Ajax](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12962/10519946/napoli-sign-poland-international-arkadiusz-milik-from-ajax).

Last month, [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-transfer-rumours-arkadiusz-milik-target-juventus-levy/) claimed Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants £45m to seal the deal for the 26-year-old and [Spurs](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-transfer-rumours-moura-milik-napoli-swap-deal/) have been trying to sort out a swap which would send Lucas Moura in the opposite direction.

However, it seems that the Londoners’ plan hasn’t worked out as hoped, as Milik is closing in on a reunion with his former Napoli boss [Maurizio Sarri](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-rumours-gossip-18685582) in Turin.

It is hardly surprising that the Pole has drawn comparisons with his international teammate [Robert Lewandowski](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-transfer-rumours-moura-milik-napoli-swap-deal/) in the past, although he is still some way behind his colleague on the goalscoring charts, as the Bayern Munich striker has scored an astonishing [407 goals in 586 club career appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robert-lewandowski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/38253).

While he hasn’t hit the same heights as of yet, Milik still managed to score 11 goals in 26 games in Serie A this season, taking 2.6 shots per game, finishing with a passing accuracy rate of 82.3% (via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/104257/Show/Arkadiusz-Milik)).

As it stands, it seems that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy [isn’t willing to spend](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11720841/jose-mourinho-spurs-transfer-budget-slashed/) anywhere near Napoli’s asking price, meaning that Mourinho will miss out on the forward in the summer. [Both clubs](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-la-scelta-tra-zapata-e-milik-e-fatta-i-tre-giocatori-coinvo-71725) remain poles apart on their respective valuations, which continues to be a stumbling block.
