# Tottenham: Campbell tips Kane to depart after Conte arrival

**Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell believes Tottenham will ‘lose’ captain Harry Kane despite Antonio Conte coming in as manager, [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/conte-could-axe-kane-from-tottenham-xi-after-training-ground-reveal-pundit/) report.**

### The Lowdown: January links; Conte’s arrival

Kane was involved in a transfer saga over the summer with [links](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/12/manchester-city-ready-to-pay-150m-to-sign-harry-kane-from-tottenham) of a move to Manchester City.

The 28-year-old, who still has [two-and-a-half years left](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/profil/spieler/132098) on his north London deal, did all he could to get a move off the ground, however, he ended up remaining at Spurs with Daniel Levy unwilling to drop his asking price.

[Rumours](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1492897/man-city-harry-kane-transfer-news-tottenham-hotspur-updates-SNT) have since emerged of a possible January move to the Etihad for Kane, with Pep Guardiola still in the market for a striker.

Conte is the new man in charge in the capital, though, and Kane, who Jamie Carragher called [‘streetwise’](https://www.givemesport.com/1621234-tottenhams-harry-kane-is-premier-leagues-most-streetwise-player-says-jamie-carragher), is thought to be [excited](https://twitter.com/AlasdairGold/status/1455546966667153410) about what the future holds at Spurs under his leadership.

### The Latest: Campbell’s comments

Campbell, who regularly features for [Sky Sports](https://icdb.tv/stats/1212/Kevin-Campbell), was talking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/conte-could-axe-kane-from-tottenham-xi-after-training-ground-reveal-pundit/) specifically on Kane following Conte’s arrival.

He said that Spurs ‘are going to lose Kane’, who called former manager Nuno Espirito Santo [‘great’](https://punditarena.com/football/eoin-harte/harry-kane-spurs-nuno-espirito-santo/) back in the summer.

> “They are going to lose Harry Kane.
>
> “He is not there anyway. His mind is elsewhere.
>
> “This is the conundrum and I’m going to say it, Harry Kane being at Spurs right now is a problem. He wants out. He has got beef with Levy because he broke a gentleman’s agreement.
>
> “It has never been about the managers. Now, another manager has come in. Is Conte going to play Kane if he knows he wants out? I don’t know if he will. It is such a tough situation.”

### The Verdict: Next six months key?

If Spurs fail to make any progress under Conte between now and the end of the current campaign, then Kane may well explore a summer exit once again.

He’s still [yet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-kane/erfolge/spieler/132098) to win a trophy in north London, but Tottenham appear to have a good chance of ending their long wait for silverware in the Europa Conference League, while also being in the last eight of the Carabao Cup.

On that basis, a first piece of silverware for Kane at Tottenham could be massive in regards to keeping him at the club long term, but Campbell thinks his ‘mind is elsewhere’.
