Tottenham are considering approaching West Ham for star midfielder Lucas Paqueta. Spurs have already signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham in a £55m deal earlier this summer, and it is believed they would need to stump up even more to secure Paqueta.
TalkSport has reported that West Ham would consider offers in excess of £60m for Paqueta, as Tottenham weigh up options for the No.10 position. Spurs are reeling from the loss of James Maddison through a knee injury that has ruled him out for a large part of the season.
They were thwarted by their north London rivals Arsenal in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, while they also missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White. They have now set their sight on West Ham ace Paqueta.
Paqueta is not agitating for a move away from West Ham, after the club stood by him during allegations of spot fixing last season. He has been cleared of all charges, and the player expressed his gratitude to West Ham for their support during the saga.
Paqueta amongst list of names on Tottenham short list

Tottenham are believed to be targeting at least two further signings in the closing days of the window. ESPN has reported that Paqueta is amongs a list of players under consideration alongside Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, Marseille’s Adrian Rabiot, Como’s Nico Paz, RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, and Man City’s Savinho.
Many of those deals are seen as difficult to do at the moment however, with Simons in particular already in advanced talks with Chelsea over a potential move. Como have already rejected an approach from Spurs for Nico Paz, and the player’s former club Real Madid possess a buy-back clause should a fee be agreed in the future.
Spurs are targeting a winger and a No.10 and have made Savinho their top wing target. Negotiations with City so far have not progressed with City demanding upwards of £70m for the player.
With less than week remaining in the transfer window, Tottenham will have to move quickly and likely shell out a large sum to secure two new signings before deadline day.
