# Tottenham: Lilywhites make Daichi Kamada contract offer

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) have now made Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada a contract offer, according to a report from Germany.**

### The Lowdown: Kamada’s future

With Kamada’s contract set to [expire](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daichi-kamada/profil/spieler/356141) at the end of the season, he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in the January transfer window, and he is showing no signs of wanting to remain with the Bundesliga outfit.

[Reports](https://www.football-espana.net/2023/01/03/sevilla-to-rival-barcelona-for-bundesliga-playmaker) from Spain claim that Frankfurt are resigned to losing the midfielder, and Tottenham have now become one of the first clubs to take their interest one step further, by tabling an official offer.

### The Latest: Contract offered…

According to a [report](https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/eintracht-frankfurt/bild-kennt-alle-details-mega-vertraege-was-eintracht-frankfurt-zwei-stars-bietet-82417074.bild.html) from German outlet BILD, Spurs are now pushing hard to sign the Japan international, and they have offered to double the salary that is being offered by his current club.

Frankfurt have tabled the 26-year-old a package of around £45k-per-week, but Fabio Paratici has a major advantage in that he can afford to double this to £90k, which could end up being the decisive factor (via [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/euro-transfer-gossip-conte-backed-hard-cash-japan-star-barcelona-pair-join-spurs-man-utd-bono-desire)).

### The Verdict: Make it happen

Lauded as ‘[incredible](https://twitter.com/Buntingfootball/status/1554202495685124098?s=20&t=I2xoTsCs7C5XrT81FhJ4Mw)‘ by journalist Josh Bunting, the attacking-midfielder has more than merited this description with his performances in the Bundesliga so far this season, weighing in with [seven](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daichi-kamada/leistungsdaten/spieler/356141) goals and four assists in 13 appearances.

The goal tally is particularly impressive, as it ranks the [26](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daichi-kamada/nationalmannschaft/spieler/356141)-time Japan international as the [highest](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/stats/players/goals)-scoring Frankfurt player in the league, despite the fact that he has often featured as a central-midfielder, playing in that deeper role in [11](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daichi-kamada/leistungsdaten/spieler/356141) of his 22 outings in all competitions.

Given the recent injuries suffered by [Dejan Kulusevski](https://theathletic.com/4049234/2023/01/01/dejan-kulusevski-injury-tottenham-hotspur/) and [Richarlison](https://www.footballinsider247.com/insider-richarlison-has-high-end-grade-two-injury-as-tottenham-get-bad-news/), it is a shame that Kamada is unlikely to arrive at N17 before the end of the season, but if he eventually does, he has all the hallmarks of being a fantastic signing for [Antonio Conte](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/).
