# Tottenham Hotspur: Evan Ndicka could be targeted by Spurs

**[Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) could move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka in the January transfer window, according to a recent report.**

### The Lowdown: Ndicka’s Premier League interest

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs told [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88075741-arsenal-transfer-news-january-gabriel-emirates) in October that Arsenal had done the ‘legwork’ in their attempt to sign the Frenchman amid interest from a whole host of clubs across Europe.

It was then [reported](https://www.romagiallorossa.it/notizie-as-roma/esclusivo-roma-su-kiwior-ma-in-italia-milan-e-juventus-sono-in-vantaggio-ndicka-tottenham-e-newcastle-forti-sul-difensore.html) that Tottenham were one of the clubs who had emerged as potential suitors for the 23-year-old, who is available on a pre-contract agreement in January as his contract [expires](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/evan-ndicka/profil/spieler/371149) at the end of the season.

It now appears as though Spurs could take that interest one step further…

### The Latest: Tottenham eyeing Ndicka move

According to a report from [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/fabio-paratici-antonio-conte-tottenham-25824149) on Sunday, [Antonio Conte](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/antonio-conte/) may look to bolster his options with another left-footed centre-back, given that he currently only has Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet at his disposal in that area.

It is detailed that Tottenham may look towards a move for Ndicka on a free transfer, in which case the Frenchman would not be immediately available.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

The centre-back has experience playing in a three-at-the-back system in Frankfurt, with that being the chosen formation in [18](https://www.footballcritic.com/eintracht-frankfurt/formations/521) of the club’s 23 matches so far this season, so he would be able to seamlessly transition into Conte’s [preferred way of playing](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjPo6nVy5n8AhWEnVwKHWEDBCAQFnoECCQQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-10677719%2FMARTIN-KEOWN-Antonio-Contes-three-finally-bringing-best-Tottenham.html&usg=AOvVaw1Bo6loEmBfe43XVwKDToS4).

Hailed as ‘[incredible](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/evan-ndicka-eintracht-frankfurt-newcastle-23861512)‘ by journalist Christopher Michel, the 6 foot 3 colossus has been in impressive form over the past year, averaging [4.47](https://fbref.com/en/players/441197b8/Obite-NDicka) clearances and [1.47](https://fbref.com/en/players/441197b8/Obite-NDicka) blocks per 90, an increase on the [2.63](https://fbref.com/en/players/4f28a6ff/Clement-Lenglet) and [0.96](https://fbref.com/en/players/4f28a6ff/Clement-Lenglet) per game respectively from Clement Lenglet in the same timeframe.

Tottenham have struggled defensively this season, with these issues coming to the forefront once more in the 2-2 draw against Brentford yesterday as their [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) goal concession tally grew to [23](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table).

Therefore, it is evident that they need reinforcements at the back, and Ndicka would appear to be the perfect target for Conte.
