# Tottenham Hotspur: Fans gush over news of Luis Campos’ expected arrival at Spurs

**Lille director of football Luis Campos is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur imminently, according to [CANAL+](https://twitter.com/infosportplus/status/1262821527793405955) via [@RickSpurs](https://twitter.com/RickSpur/status/1262826204161245188).**

The Spurs target requested to leave the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Monday and is set to reunite with Jose Mourinho at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although The Telegraph’s chief football correspondent [Jason Burt has claimed](https://twitter.com/JBurtTelegraph/status/1262829150500540418) that the Lilywhites are yet to reach an agreement with the [transfer guru](https://talksport.com/football/632851/who-is-luis-campos-transfer-jose-mourinho-martial-mbappe-pepe-tottenham/), the French media are insisting Spurs are in pole position to bring the scout to north London in a matter of weeks.

Earlier this season, [The Guardian revealed](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/dec/12/tottenham-danny-rose-who-said-mourinho-in-charge-tottenham-luis-campos-sporting-director) the 55-year-old is at the top of Daniel Levy’s list of priorities, as he has a close relationship with Jose Mourinho. Indeed, the Portuguese duo worked together during Mourinho’s famous stint in charge at [Real Madrid](https://talksport.com/football/632851/who-is-luis-campos-transfer-jose-mourinho-martial-mbappe-pepe-tottenham/) and Campos has previously called him the “best coach in the world” ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11865889/luis-campos-open-to-joining-jose-mourinho-at-tottenham-as-sporting-director)).

Football journalist [Ricky Sacks](https://twitter.com/RickSpur/status/1262826204161245188) tweeted the news on social media, saying: “BREAKING | Lille OSC Director Of Football Luis Campos is expected to join Josè Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs target made a formal request to leave the French club on Monday under his current position as Sporting Director. | \[Canal +\].”

Unsurprisingly, loads of Spurs fans gushed over this “huge” update, with one supporter dubbing Campos a “game changer” and another adding that the “Prem ain’t ready.”
