# Tottenham fans on Twitter are begging for Alderweireld deal

**Tottenham fans absolutely love the way their side is playing at the moment even though they’re massively struggling with fitness problems. In the end, Christian Eriksen won the game against Brighton with an 88th-minute winner and as Toby Alderweireld took to Twitter to celebrate it he was bombarded with calls for him to extend his deal.**

Toby Alderweireld was sublime yesterday evening. The Belgian was incredible from start to finish, despite the fact he had to play a much different role to the one that he usually does. Considering Brighton’s complete lack of attacking intent, Alderweireld was still in the game as he played on the edge of the Seagull’s box, and was very unlucky not to score when he hit the post in the second half.

Over the last few months, the defender has seemingly thrown himself into life at Tottenham more recently despite the fact he’s staring down the barrel of a North London exit. The scenes at full-time in their Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester City were incredible, and the Lilywhites are now starting to convince themselves that they might not have to lose out on the defender this summer.

The Lilywhites absolutely hate the thought of losing Alderweireld this summer and will do everything possible to try and keep him on their books for next season.
