# Tottenham: Fans on Twitter make the same Levy joke amid Ndombele fee hackers

**Tottenham made Tanguy Ndombele their most expensive signing in history over the summer when the Lilywhites paid out a fee that could eventually rise to £70m for the Frenchman ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48841318)).**

> A police investigation in France has been launched after hackers allegedly attempted to steal £1.9M that was paid to Amiens as part of Tanguy Ndombele's transfer to [#thfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/thfc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) this summer. \[Daily Mail\] [pic.twitter.com/JdnQhBvNeb](https://t.co/JdnQhBvNeb)

However, it has now become apparent by France Bleu Picardie, [via Get French Football News](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2019/hackers-tried-to-rob-amiens-of-e2m-from-their-tanguy-ndombele-sell-on-percentage-fee/), that hackers have tried to steal £1.9m that was paid to Amiens as part of Tottenham’s deal to sign Ndombele from Lyon. The transaction was blocked, but a formal investigation has been opened.

With the news of the hackers and in the knowledge that no money has been stolen from any club after Ndombele’s huge summer move, a few Tottenham fans have been making the joke that Daniel Levy, a notoriously tough to deal with businessman as eluded to by Sam Allardyce on [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/583650/transfer-deadline-day-sam-allardyce-tottenham-daniel-levy-west-ham-david-sullivan/) recently, was the perpetrator for the attempted stolen money.
