# Tottenham: Fans unimpressed with Paulo Gazzaniga against Norwich

**Many Tottenham fans voiced their displeasure with the performance of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga this evening.**

The 27-year-old made his [18th appearance of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-gazzaniga/leistungsdaten/spieler/195488) in today’s 2-2 draw at Norwich, having [played regularly](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-gazzaniga/leistungsdaten/spieler/195488) since fellow Spurs ‘keeper Hugo Lloris [dislocated his elbow](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/hugo-lloris-injury-latest-spurs-17273064) in October.

Gazzaniga, who rashly conceded a penalty in last week’s defeat by Chelsea, got a hand to the ball for Mario Vrancic’s opening goal at Carrow Road but was unable to stop it from going past him into the net. \[[via Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/norwich-vs-tottenham/408177)\]

He was then [left static](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/spurs-ratings-ndombele-mourinho-eriksen-17483551) for Norwich’s second goal of the night as Serge Aurier [inadvertently turned the ball into his own net](https://www.skysports.com/football/norwich-vs-tottenham/408177) to restore the Canaries’ lead.

Rob Guest of [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/spurs-ratings-ndombele-mourinho-eriksen-17483551) awarded the Argentine a lowly four in his player ratings, saying that he “perhaps could have done better for Mario Vrancic’s opener”.

Steve Jennings of [Tottenham Blog](https://www.tottenhamblog.com/2019/12/28/spurs-player-ratings-a-promising-7-for-one-midfielder-in-draw-with-norwich/) also felt that Gazzaniga didn’t cover himself in glory for Vrancic’s goal, saying that he was caught “a little off-centre” and handing him a rating of five.

These Spurs fans on Twitter were distinctly unimpressed with their team’s goalkeeper this evening:

> It’s pretty much in the centre of the goal …… Gazzaniga is so sluggish with his feet and slow to get down!!!

> Gazzaniga doesn't inspire confidence at all, he just stands back there on his line, should come out & command his area.
