# Tottenham Hotspur: Alasdair Gold claims Spurs are ‘buzzing’ with transfers, hints there may be more

**Speaking in a [Football.London Q&A](https://twitter.com/alasdairgold/status/1312683843711832065?s=21), reliable Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold has issued a ‘[behind the scenes](https://twitter.com/alasdairgold/status/1312683843711832065?s=21)‘ claim that ‘[everyone is buzzing](https://twitter.com/alasdairgold/status/1312683843711832065?s=21)‘ over the club’s business so far – but the journalist also dropped a subtle transfer hint, stating ‘[almost all](https://twitter.com/alasdairgold/status/1312683843711832065?s=21)‘ targets have been acquired.**

After thrashing Premier League giants Man United [6-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2020/oct/04/manchester-united-v-tottenham-premier-league-live), Spurs continue to be in dreamland following a very impressive transfer window thus far heading into deadline day.

Six summer signings have come through the door in what has been a busy few months for chairman Daniel Levy, snapping up Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and the sensational return of club icon Gareth Bale.

However, while Gold states that there is a buzz behind the scenes at Tottenham surrounding their done deals, he also claims that ‘almost’ all areas have been reinforced – potentially harking back to Spurs’ repeated links with a centre-back.

Indeed, the club are reportedly in the market for a new defender as their [seventh summer signing](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/milan-skriniar-keen-spurs-move-alasdair-gold/amp/), with the only question being “who could walk through the door next?”

Star defender Milan Skriniar has been at the centre of [ongoing negotiations](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-milan-skriniar-22789376.amp), meanwhile Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been listed as a[cheaper alternative](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-milan-skriniar-22789376) on a temporary deal.

Manager Jose Mourinho also dropped his own subtle transfer hint in a press conference after the famous win at United, stating that he has an incredible squad in the ‘[attacking areas](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/jose-mourinho-tottenham-press-conference-19048528)‘.

Whether or not Tottenham do end up bringing in a new defensive face remains to be seen, but it would certainly elevate Lilywhites to an even higher level of euphoria if they can.

It’s been a memorable last few weeks for the club, but landing either Skriniar or Rudiger before the 11pm deadline day cut off time could make things just that little bit sweeter.
