# Tottenham Hotspur: Club do not need to sign another out-and-out striker

**Mauricio Pochettino appears to still be unsure what Spurs’ striker situation will be at the end of the summer transfer window ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11769346/mauricio-pochettino-undecided-over-tottenham-strikers-for-new-season)).**

Harry Kane looks to be the [only recognised out-and-out forward at the club](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11769346/mauricio-pochettino-undecided-over-tottenham-strikers-for-new-season) due to departures which have left the north London team without a supplementary option.

Tottenham [released Fernando Llorente](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7264013/Fernando-Llorente-handed-way-Tottenham-one-year-deal.html) after his contract expired at the end of the season, although it is now being [rumoured](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7264013/Fernando-Llorente-handed-way-Tottenham-one-year-deal.html) that he has been offered a new one-year deal.

And the side’s other striker, Vincent Janssen, was recently [sold for £6million to Mexican outfit Monterrey](https://www.goal.com/en/news/tottenham-flop-janssen-joins-liga-mx-side-monterrey-in-6m/h8raxozpi0yszbru30z41186) after a disappointing spell which saw him bag just [six goals in 42 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vincent-janssen/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/207015).

But despite a lack of options when it comes to strikers in the Spurs set-up, [Pochettino has said](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11769346/mauricio-pochettino-undecided-over-tottenham-strikers-for-new-season) any dealings which may or may not be done are not down to him.

If the Lilywhites do not find a more established back-up to Harry Kane before the deadline day for English clubs on Thursday, August 8 then an [option Pochettino admits he will have to explore](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11769346/mauricio-pochettino-undecided-over-tottenham-strikers-for-new-season) is bringing through 17-year-old Troy Parrott from the U18’s.

The Irishman scored [15 goals in 12 U18 Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/troy-parrott/profil/spieler/552655) for the youth side last season.

But while it may seem as if Pochettino is lacking a second choice centre forward to kick Spurs on next season, they do already have two players who have performed in that role for him.

Heung-min Son has scored [25 goals in 47 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/heung-min-son/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91845/verein/148) as the man through the middle, while Lucas Moura has also proven himself pretty capable, netting [seven times in 15 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-moura/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/77100/verein/148).

Add to that the possibility of [Llorente signing a new deal](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7264013/Fernando-Llorente-handed-way-Tottenham-one-year-deal.html) and playmakers [Giovani Lo Celso](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9560471/tottenham-to-complete-45m-giovani-lo-celso-transfer-real-betis/) and [Paulo Dybala](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham/paulo-dybala-to-tottenham-spurs-approach-juventus-over-move-that-would-break-their-transfer-record-a4197701.html) potentially joining the set-up, the men from north London will have more than enough firepower to compete on all fronts again this season, whatever happens in the final two weeks of the window.
