# Tottenham Hotspur: Club have been offered the chance to sign Diego Costa

**Tottenham Hotspur will need to look for a striker in the transfer window due to the fact that Troy Parrott [leaving on loan](https://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2020/august/millwall-confirm-troy-parrott-loan-signing/) means Harry Kane is the [only](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/startseite/verein/148) natural centre-forward at the club.**

Jose Mourinho will look to strengthen in this department, and this has seen Spanish forward Diego Costa linked with a move to the North London side.

The striker only has one year left on his contract in Spain, so he would be seen as a cheap option for the Jose Mourinho.

Costa is very well known by all who love the Premier League as he became a great talisman for Chelsea. The striker, who was briefly [managed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diego-costa/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44779) by Mourinho at the Blues, helped the club win the Premier League twice and scored 58 goals whilst also providing 24 assists in 120 appearances which is a very good record, per [Transfermarkt.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diego-costa/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44779) His goal scoring record is good wherever he has played as he has managed to score 179 times, and also pick up 71 assists in 467 appearances.

Costa is also only [31 years-old](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diego-costa/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44779), so he definitely still has a couple of seasons left in him to perform, and if he is ok with being cover for Kane, then Spurs could have a really lethal pairing at the club.

People might say it is risky due to his age, but all the club need is someone to cover Kane in case he gets injured and the Atletico forward could be the ideal transfer to fill this criteria.
