# Tottenham Hotspur: Fabio Paratici ‘will try again’ for Nahitan Nandez

**Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/rudygaletti/status/1438833257999708168?s=21), Sportitalia TV journalist Rudy Galetti has made a Tottenham Hotspur transfer claim involving Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs eye Nandez…

During the summer transfer window, Tottenham became heavily linked with a move for the Uruguay international around the time news emerged about Tanguy Ndombele’s unrest.

[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12383436/nahitan-nandez-tottenham-make-approach-for-cagliari-midfielder) reported of managing director Fabio Paratici’s interest in bringing the tenacious midfielder to north London and revealed that his versatility was certainly a factor, with Nandez capable of slotting in at right-back and on the wings as well as central midfield.

Galetti has now come out with an out-of-window update on the situation.

### The Latest: Spurs ‘will try again’…

Taking to [Twitter,](https://twitter.com/rudygaletti/status/1438833257999708168?s=21) the Italian reporter has shared what Spurs now plan to do regarding Nandez, with Paratici still holding a very firm interest.

It is believed that the Lilywhites ‘will try again’ for him in January but his high valuation remains, with a €36m (£30.7m) release clause.

“Tottenham continue to follow Nandez,” explained Galetti.

“Spurs, after having talked with Cagliari during the summer transfer window, will try again in January. Request is the same: €36M release clause.”

### The Verdict: Get it done…

In terms of a player who can add real steel to Tottenham’s midfield, we believe they can do no better than Nandez. He won [1.8 tackles per game](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/280928/History/Nahitan-N%C3%A1ndez) in Serie A last season, a far higher ratio than the likes of Harry Winks and Eric Dier have [managed this term](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/30/Show/England-Tottenham).

At 25 years old, he comes with sell-on value and a stunning Serie A reputation, with ESPN and BT Sport pundit Mina Rzouki also branding him ‘underrated’ and ‘amazing’ ([Twitter](https://mobile.twitter.com/minarzouki/status/1389505076813864964)).

Also [versatile](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nahitan-nandez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/315063) and capable of slotting in on the right, both as wing back and further forward, Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo could certainly do with a player of that ilk.
