**Writing on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano has relayed news from fellow journalist Gianluca Di Marzio with a big transfer development now coming out of Tottenham Hotspur.**

### The Lowdown: Big summer of change for Spurs…

Tottenham will need to adopt a sell-to-buy policy amid the financial crisis caused by coronavirus.

Spurs missed out on much matchday revenue due to empty stadiums and were severely impacted off the field by the pandemic ([Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-financial-results-daniel-levy-b77059.html#:~:text=Register%20here-,Tottenham%20confirm%20%C2%A363.9m%20loss%20as%20Daniel%20Levy%20warns,income'%20if%20stadiums%20remain%20closed&text=Spurs'%20revenue%20was%20down%20to,grounds%20remain%20closed%20to%20fans.)).

However, there are still plenty of[links to star players](https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1402668634405851143) and potentially reasons to believe the club will, in fact, spend some money this summer.

### The Latest: Romano relays big transfer development…

Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1403682194497970179), relaying information from fellow reporter Di Marzio, Romano has shared a big transfer development coming out of N17.

It is now believed that Tottenham have entered the race to sign VfB Stuttgart winger Nicolas Gonzalez and that new football managing director Fabio Paratici is said to be a big fan.

“Nico Gonzalez is expected to leave Stuttgard in the next days,” said Romano.

“Fiorentina offered €25m add ons included, Brighton interested too but Tottenham are now planning for a move.

“Fabio Paratici appreciates him – no official proposal yet from Spurs.”

### The Verdict: Exciting update…

Drawing comparisons to Real Madrid legend Raul, the 23-year-old has also been branded a ‘winner’ who ‘always gives 100 per cent’ ([Bundesliga](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/nicolas-gonzalez-who-is-the-vfb-stuttgart-striker-with-links-to-diego-maradona-milan-12093)).

Starting [10 German top flight matches](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/345322/Show/Nicol%C3%A1s-Gonz%C3%A1lez) for Stuttgart over 2020/2021, missing a lot of the season through injury, he still managed to really impress when given the opportunity to shine.

Over his Bundesliga campaign, Gonzalez managed a very threatening [3.3 shots on goal per 90](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/345322/Show/Nicol%C3%A1s-Gonz%C3%A1lez) – more than anyone in the Tottenham Hotspur squad bar Harry Kane ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/30/Show/England-Tottenham)).

Spurs now planning to make a move for the Argentine certainly comes as an exciting update.
