# Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to latest transfer news as Ben Chilwell linked with club

**Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell in the summer transfer window, that is according to a report from [The Times](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/leicester-eye-charlie-taylor-as-potential-replacement-for-ben-chilwell-256sf3b98).**

It is suggested that Spurs, along with Chelsea and Manchester City, are keen on taking the 23-year-old from the Foxes in the off-season and that Leicester have already identified Burnley’s Charlie Taylor as a replacement.

Chilwell has been a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, starting 23 Premier League games and chipping in with a couple of goals whilst also providing three assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-chilwell/leistungsdaten/spieler/316125)). A new left-back is likely to be high on Jose Mourinho’s wish-list this summer, particularly if Danny Rose, who recently joined Newcastle United on loan, leaves the club on a permanent basis.

However, it seems that many Spurs fans do not think that Chilwell would be a good addition, with one fan even describing him as “another version of Aurier” – a player [many Tottenham fans have slammed](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/tottenham/tottenham-hotspur-fans-slate-serge-aurier-for-performance-against-aston-villa/) for performances this season.

> Poor man’s Ben Davies! Chilwell not playing well and his lack of pace is something Spurs could do without. Plenty of alternatives more suited to the formation Spurs play – Alex Grimaldo, Alex Sandro, Digne, Jonas Hector and Halstenberg
