# Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to news that Harry Kane could make early return from injury

**Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane could return from injury earlier than expected, with the striker hoping to be back in action by early April, according to a report from [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11050274/harry-kane-injury-spurs-england-euro-2020/).**

The 26-year-old has been out since New Year’s Day, when he ruptured a tendon in his left hamstring during their 1-0 defeat against Southampton. He had surgery to repair this shortly afterwards but the club didn’t expect him to be back in training until early April ([tottenhamhotspur.com](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2020/january/harry-kane-injury-latest/)).

However, according to The Sun, his recovery is going far better than expected and he could be back playing in just six weeks. This would be a major boost for Jose Mourinho, who recently lost Son Heung-min to injury ([tottenhamhotspur.com](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2020/february/son-injury-update/)), and it could give them a better chance of finishing in the top four.

It would also be a huge positive for England and Gareth Southgate, who would have been concerned about whether his captain would be able to participate at Euro 2020 this summer.

Loads of Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that Kane could be set for an early comeback but perhaps surprisingly, many of them don’t want the striker to return this season. Instead, they would rather he take his time and ensure that he is fully ready, rather than rushing back and potentially breaking down again.

Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…

> No, no, no! Stay and rest for the rest of the season and miss out on the Euros too. Otherwise this is going to keep happening

> Not sure this is good news. He won’t be fit enough to play out the rest of the season and then play x amount of games for England.\
> Yeah, we really could do with him back but I’d say get back to 100% fitness for next season xx

> How many times have we seen players come back too early from injuries only for them to break down again? Best he waits till next season & starts afresh.

> Rushing back from injury again 🙄. Should just miss the rest of the season and the Euros, then be 100 percent fit for the start of season
