# Tottenham Hotspur: Fans slam Eric Dier’s performance against Bayern Munich

**Several Tottenham Hotspur fans were unhappy with the performance of Eric Dier as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.**

It was a poor night for Spurs and several players were way off the pace, but the England international was singled out for specific criticism on social media.

Dier was certainly not at his best at the Allianz Arena, a statement which is backed up by the statistics.

Indeed, the 25-year-old lost possession on 12 occasions in the match, won just one of five ground duels, won neither of his two aerial duels, was dribbled past twice and had a passing accuracy of just 64% ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/eric-dier/146101)).

He had fallen out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino, but the ex-Sporting Lisbon man has appeared in five of the six matches since Mourinho took charge, starting four ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-dier/leistungsdaten/spieler/175722)).

However it seems that several Spurs fans were not impressed with Dier’s performance in Germany and they have been slamming him on Twitter.
