# Tottenham Hotspur: Gianluca Di Marzio drops Milan Skriniar update with price tag

**Writing on [his website](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-news-trattative-29-giugno-2021), journalist Gianluca Di Marzio of [Sky Italy](https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/gianluca-di-marzio) has dropped a Tottenham Hotspur claim as they eye Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs and Skriniar…

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the [43-cap Slovakia star](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milan-skriniar/profil/spieler/204069) since as far back as last summer, with former Lilywhites boss Jose Mourinho said to be an admirer at one stage.

Spurs chief Steve Hitchen even [flew to Italy](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/inside-tottenham-transfer-window-levy-19058497) in an attempt to negotiate his signing but to no avail as the two clubs failed to reach a compromise over valuation.

As new managing director Fabio Paratici takes to the helm at Spurs, Skriniar is still said to be [on the radar](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-news-trattative-29-giugno-2021) as a target this summer, with journalist Di Marzio now providing an update on Inter’s demands.

### The Latest: Di Marzio drops price update…

Indeed, as per the Sky Sports journalist, Inter are apparently asking for an eight-figure fee of [€60 million (£51.6m)](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-news-trattative-29-giugno-2021) if they are to let Skriniar leave this summer.

Di Marzio says that while Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is apparently ‘close’ with a valuation of around €15m (£12.9m), Skriniar will demand a much large fee with Tottenham now told exactly what they need to pay.

Paratici, as a result, could have to invest significantly if he is serious about signing the defender.

### The Verdict: Worth it?

The 6 foot 1 colossus certainly impressed again as part of a title-winning Inter side over 2020/2021, starting 31 matches under former boss Antonio Conte whilst averaging a composed 92.2% pass accuracy out from the back ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/302918/Show/Milan-Skriniar)).

Former teammate Adam Zilak knows full well of his ability, lauding Skriniar as an ‘incredible defender’ in an interview with La [Gazzetta dello Sport.](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Inter/29-03-2021/inter-skriniar-raccontato-ex-compagno-4001863986894_preview.shtml?reason=unauthenticated&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gazzetta.it%2FCalcio%2FSerie-A%2FInter%2F29-03-2021%2Finter-skriniar-raccontato-ex-compagno-4001863986894.shtml)

However, for £51.6m, his signing could now be out of reach – especially considering Tottenham’s financial trouble and the ongoing financial implications of the pandemic.
