# Tottenham Hotspur: Jermain Defoe asks Callum Wilson if he will join Spurs via Instagram

**Tottenham have already made a big signing in this transfer window, as they managed to [acquire](https://www.goal.com/en/news/tottenham-confirm-hojbjerg-signing-from-southampton/xwq2kb4a2fne1az4l0phrgc8y#:~:text=Tottenham%20have%20confirmed%20the%20signing,incoming%20transfer%20of%20the%20summer.) Pierre-Emile **Hojbjerg** from Southampton this week.**

It is a sign of intent that Jose Mourinho will get backing from the board to build the squad that he wants in his first full season. We have also seen a departure from the club as promising striker Troy Parrott has gone on [loan](https://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2020/august/millwall-confirm-troy-parrott-loan-signing/) to Millwall. This means that Harry Kane is the only real [centre-forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/startseite/verein/148) at the club.

Clearly this has been noticed by Spurs legend Jermain Defoe, who scored 143 goals in 361 appearances for the North London side, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jermain-defoe/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3875), as he has been asking a former teammate of his when he will join the club.

Defoe posted on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/CDyRFYopnPx/) an image of when he scored two goals for England against Holland eleven years ago. However it is the comment section that will have Spurs fans intrigued as Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson commented on the post, raving over the goal, to which Defoe asked the question, ‘u going spurs or what bro’.

The club have been [linked](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-wilson-hojbjerg-transfer-news-22482309) to the [England international](https://www.premierleague.com/players/8454/Callum-Wilson/overview) in the past, and he definitely would add some-much needed firepower as cover or to support Kane as the £18 million-valued ace has [managed](https://www.premierleague.com/players/8454/Callum-Wilson/overview) 41 goals in 142 Premier League games, which is very decent for a striker performing in a side of AFC Bournemouth’s level.
