**Speaking to[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-insider-claims-tanganga-could-join-premier-league-club-in-january-after-sources-reveal-today/), Tottenham Hotspur ‘[insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-insider-claims-tanganga-could-join-premier-league-club-in-january-after-sources-reveal-today/)‘ John Wenham, who regularly breaks club news on his [Lilywhites Rose](https://twitter.com/Lilywhite_Rose/status/1439119178980528128) social media channels, has made an exit claim involving defender Joe Rodon.**

### The Lowdown: Spurs exits in January?

As manager Antonio Conte makes his player ‘[evaluations’](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/tottenham-transfer-news-antonio-conte-warns-players-he-is-making-evaluations-ahead-of-january-window) ahead of the winter window, a few players have already been linked with a possible move away next month.

Journalist [David Ornstein of The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3011228/2021/12/13/ornstein-legal-failure-putting-women-at-risk-spurs-to-let-dele-leave-kamara-to-go-for-free/) recently broke news that Tottenham are open to offers for midfielder Dele Alli whilst defender Matt Doherty could also be let go in January, [according to reports.](https://www.asromalive.it/2021/12/25/calciomercato-roma-doherty-tottenham-conte-mourinho-pinto-mendes/)

Rodon, meanwhile, has been linked with a[possible move away](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-rodon-100-wants-to-quit-tottenham-in-january-after-major-development/) as he [struggles for game time](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/302312/Show/Joe-Rodon) under Conte with insider Wenham sharing his transfer belief for the Wales international.

### The Latest: Wenham makes Rodon exit claim…

Speaking to[FI](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tottenham-insider-claims-tanganga-could-join-premier-league-club-in-january-after-sources-reveal-today/), the Lilywhites source believes that Tottenham’s centre-back will ‘definitely’ leave north London in January – barring a serious injury to in-form defender Eric Dier.

“I think Rodon will definitely go in January,” he explained to the outlet.

“The only way he will stay is if Dier picks up a long-term injury. On the face of it, that would cement his place in the side.”

### The Verdict: Right call?

Lauded as a ‘[special player](https://twitter.com/ianmitchelmore/status/1374837759702097932?s=21)‘ by Wales Online correspondent Ian Mitchelmore, Rodon could still have a bright future at Spurs, and we believe the best course of action could be a loan spell away in the winter window.

The defender [impressed in flashes last season](https://www.footballinsider247.com/the-biggest-compliment-i-can-pay-him-robinson-shares-how-joe-rodon-is-so-special/) and showcased real potential at times, and at 24-years-old, there is a case to be made that he will only improve over time.

According to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/30/Archive/England-Tottenham?stageId=18685), over his eight Premier League starts last year, he even managed to make more interceptions per 90 on average (1.8) than any Spurs player in the top flight – showcasing his obvious quality.

As he is arguably wasted on the bench, a temporary spell away from N17 for Rodon could suit all parties.
