# Tottenham Hotspur: Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy eye summer swoop for Wout Weghorst

**According to reports, via [Football.London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-transfers-camavinga-brozovic-weghorst-19133453), Spurs are still interested in signing Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst alongside massive 2021 swoops for Eduardo Camavinga and Marcelo Brozovic.**

Indeed, the report claims that Weghorst, who was allegedly targeted by Spurs in the summer, could now be reattracting Daniel Levy’s attention ahead of next summer.

### Weghorst still on Levy radar

Spurs signed Benfica star [Carlos Vinicius on loan](<https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54395856#:~:text=Tottenham%20Hotspur%20have%20signed%20Brazilian,euros%20(%C2%A340.83m).>) until the end of the season with an option to buy, and depending on how his move goes, Tottenham have refused to rule out a future move for Weghorst.

The 6 foot 5 star, who scored an impressive 20 goals in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wout-weghorst/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/228645)), is apparently valued at around £36.5 million by the Bundesliga giants – with the price tag potentially being a stumbling block for Jose Mourinho and Levy.

However, in a candid interview with German magazine [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/weghorst-verraet-mit-tottenham-war-es-serioes-787174/artikel), Weghorst opened up over his ‘dream’ English move whilst claiming the interest was ‘serious with Tottenham’ – hinting he could desire a switch in future.

### Transfer Tavern take

Still on the target list for Spurs, this towering centre-forward could be a very viable option and worth every penny of his £36.5m fee – especially given he fits [Mourinho’s mould of an imposing striker](https://www.givemesport.com/1599134-tottenham-unlikely-to-move-for-14goal-man-says-alasdair-gold) who can trouble Premier League defenders.

Ollie Watkins, Habib Diallo and Arkadiusz Milik were said to on Levy’s [watchlist over the summer](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-hotspur-alasdair-gold-claims-spurs-are-keeping-options-open-over-new-striker/), but Weghorst arguably trumps all of them.

After Fernando Llorente was released in the summer of 2019, Tottenham were left without a back-up striker to Harry Kane for 14 months until signing Vinicius – what’s the harm in bagging two?
